How does a blogger increase website traffic?

What does it take to increase website traffic? Some bloggers attract heavy traffic. I have been struggling to find an audience.

I've handed out cards that I made to market my website, visited chat forums, left comments on other websites, and sent e-mail links to my friends and other various people.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have written a variety of good articles - entertaining, assisting, and helping others to improve their life.

Hopefully, I can increase traffic to my blog website. I will appreciate any suggestions at to what I can do. Thanks in advance.
