How to attract traffic to your blog?

I started this blog last June. I have the same amount of ad clicks as I had several months ago. I don't even know if anyone is reading my blogs. I have seven times as many blogs as ad clicks. I have 4 friends on my blog list. It seems really hard to attract blog traffic and to also sell my domains.

When I enter screenwriting contests, I always lose to other writers who have less appealing scripts. I'm starting to think that I have to continue waiting for my change at success. My blog is a failure. My writing career hasn't amounted to nothing. My degrees are collecting dust. Student loans and debt are burying me in quicksand. It may seem that I'm complaining about struggles that most people are experiencing across the country, but I leave out all of my actual struggles.

Right at this moment, I would be happy if I can attract blog traffic and to sell a few of my domains. That would definitely be a good way to jump start my career. I have a few books and several screenplays that I have been working on for quite some time now. I'm hoping to find a moment to polish them. I may experience another obstacle with trying to find representation.

Most agents would rather look for established writers instead of taking on a new addition. Everything that I am lacking right now is because I can't seem to attract attention to my products and skills. Now that I'm fully prepared to take the next step, I can look to increase exposure. Any ideas on how I can attract more traffic to my blog? Thanks in advance.

Writing tip for the day 11/08/2009

The writing tip for the day is to plan out projects ahead of time. Why should you do this? Waiting right before the deadline to prepare projects will increase stress. The planning process eliminates time management issues that delay the writing process, as well as compromising deadlines. This writing tip of the day will briefly explore project planning.

Students, writers, and professionals have to plan out projects to avoid missing deadlines and to reduce stress. For the most part, many people procrastinate. It seems to be a common theme in the writing world. In order to prevent deadline and stress, make it a habit to plan a project. Research the subject - find sources, interview subjects, outline the paper and take on any other processes that will make the writing process much more effective.

Outlining a paper gives a student the direction they need to write a paper. Have everything that you need right in front of you. Don't build a paper without having the right tools in place. Once you plan the writing process, you will eliminate the clutter. Thank you for reading the daily reading tip for the day.

Good luck on planning your project.

Leaving the criticism at college behind

Two years after graduating from film school, I have found it to be a struggle in finding criticism. Criticism makes writers much more effective.

Take advantage of the criticism you receive in class - instructors and classmates. Once you leave college, people will not want to listen to your work. Essentially, you will have a tough time finding feedback.

Constructive criticism that helped you in college will later turn into repetitive criticizing and judging. People may in fact criticize your work for reason of holding you back from attaining your goals.

Make sure you get as much criticism as you can. There is going to be a time when people will avoid taking the time to assist you with the writing process.

Remember to ask questions about your screenplays and creative writing pieces. Constructive criticism outside of the academic sector is not as useful unless you find a writing position that provides it.

Writing contests are good forums for feedback, but impersonal feedback is much more reliable.

Good luck on your writing journey.

Writing tip of the day 8/24/2009

The writing tip for the day is to write in the third person. If you are a current student, this should be easy - APA requires third person writing. The best strategy to writing in the third person is to see yourself as the narrator - the voice guiding the story.

Academic work, screenwriting, medical research studies, and any other form of writing has the ability to grow with exploring the third person. The third person has the ability to deliver a strong sense of excitement, adding a mystique - an extra layer, which is sure to inject life into the writing.

Haven't you noticed the influence of third person writing? Reading any such work featuring the use of third person will make one feel respect for the writing, knowing that eluding "I," "we," and "me" can be a challenging task.

Try and use "entity" to make reference to a particular group or person. It really really helps to be effective in mastering third person writing because many professional and education forums depend on analysis to capture an audience.

Take some time to write in the third person. Write a short story. Write as if you are watching the characters from sky. Identify them, as being the narrator in which guides the characters, creates the action, makes the smells, and creates a taste.

Enjoy writing in the third person.

Academic Writing - Regarding writing service companies and freelance writers

Last night, I was surfing around the Internet for some blogs discussing academic writing, which I then remembered about an essay scam site that I had viewed before. Many students complained about past experiences regarding whether they should trust a writing service company and freelance writers.

Some students asked where they could find writing assistance because they were struggling with their academic assignments. I decided to open up a discussion about what assistance students would need to complete their assignments. I understand that interest level and procrastination are primary reasons that influence academic assignments. But students brought up relevant issues such as plagiarism, cheating, struggling with the content, and other issues.

Plagiarism is something that a student may stress about because instructors try to induce fear, making the writing process stressful and uninteresting. Don't be alarmed about plagiarism. If you're one of those students that uses a writer's manual to cite, then just ignore the instructor. They only threaten student for the sake of preventing cheating and to target students that purposely plagiarize on assignments. I can't tell you how many times that I have sat in university classrooms hearing instructors warn students about plagiarism and cheating.

Once I started freelance writing a few years back, the same issues come up again. The instructors are warning students that over cite, improperly cite, and ones that obviously cheat. Some students wait until the last minute - procrastination - and tress out about the deadline. Their last resort is to paraphrase without giving credit to authors. Other times they just flat out copy and paste an article or an academic paper in Google Scholar. How can a student avoid plagiarism?

Make sure you have an up-to-date writer's handbook, which has all the most widely used citing guidelines. I tend to stick only to APA and MLA. I rarely take on Turabian and Chicago. To me, it is basically a time issue. Clients need projects on the fly, so there is limited time trying to use superscripts and also footnotes and end notes. If I had to, I could cite in Chicago and Turabian, but I prefer not to, just to avoid any conflict. APA citing guidelines and structure takes practice.

When I first started writing APA before, one of the graduate instructors mentioned the third person. Since I was new to APA, I eventually learned after taking on freelance projects and completing large volumes of government assignments which required APA. I sometimes had fear about making sure that I cited everything right and didn't make any such mistakes that could cause me potential issues. Please don't fear instructors, as many of them have teacher assistants that are just as inexperienced as any other.

TAs' tend to threaten students because a sense of power, having control of a lecture and a discussion. While at a university, I had to take film courses that required discussions, screenings, seminars, and main class sessions. For one course, I had to go to five different classes.

Many times I would find it pointless to attend a discussion that reiterated on what the other four sessions had done about the same specific film theory processes. Though, I found great comfort in taking screenwriting courses because you knew what to expect each class session. TA's are still learning about the writing process. They are not experts in detecting plagiarism because they too, also have problems with citing guidelines. Don't let them try to influence you or eve make you think about plagiarism. They are just warning students about the obvious forms of plagiarism.

Instructors that warn students about writing companies and hiring a writer because they can spot the work from a mile away are incapable of detecting such work. Unless a writer is making many mistakes, there is no way that an instructor will even spot work. One caution; make sure that if you ask for help, do so at the beginning of the course. If you have average writing skills, then elect to wait until the last paper and the final exam to seek assistance, you may be sniffed out of the hole.

Another way that a student can complete their academic projects without spending a ton of money and not learning anything in the process is to write their own paper, then pay another freelance writer or a writing service company to revise their work. This way, you have an original paper that was written using your writing style and perceptions, but needing just some revisions to bring it up to speed. Writing service companies have freelance writers that are capable of editing work, cleaning up a project, then helping a student understand their mistakes.

As time progresses on, I will write more articles focusing on writing strategies and techniques, which are sure to students produce quality academic work. I would like to touch on how to improve interest in dreadful courses. Students that enjoy a course still have problems with preparing academic papers. I have heard gripes about not wanting to do work because a course was boring and instructors don’t take into account a life beyond college – over assigning work. Essentially, the more a person writes, the better their writing skills become. They will also understand the citing guidelines and feel the benefits of receiving good feedback and grades.

After earning multiple colleges degrees, I eventually learned to become a better writer through staying up many long nights and well into the late morning to write. Taking on many projects, blogs, e-mails, and other various forms of writing transformed my average academic skills into something better. I used to only focus on what I liked most - screenwriting and creative writing - into trying to master many diverse subjects. I am familiar with many historical events, dates, and what took place in them.

The average person will not going to discuss Plessy v. Ferguson (1896) or the Revolutions in 1849 in Europe. They may not even know who was the President during the Plessy case and why they didn't intervene and reverse such a ruling. I covered a broad range of assignments, which improved my knowledge, helped me gain a cognitive perception, and also equipped me writing skills that allowed me to prepare papers on the fly - writing, citing, and packaging an academic paper, custom to the client.

Writing takes patience, discipline, time management, and interest. As a writer, a person has to make a sacrifice to complete assignments. Take the projects seriously because they will give you valuable experience. Reading is also an important process in the writing process. While I was an undergraduate, I never had the time to read, which influenced my ability to write with the efficiency that I was capable of and had the potential to do with each given assignment.

In the last few years, I combined book knowledge, college experience, and high volume writing to evolve my writing abilities. Don't worry too much of plagiarism. If a student understands citing guidelines, then they should just focus on writing quality papers. Don’t let the plagiarism muddle crowd your ears.

Writing service companies such as Freelancewritingcenter.com are good for writers. The freelance company also caters to students that need quality papers. If a student needs a quick paper, they have the option to consult a custom writer ready to make that happen. Writing companies are not as bad as students make them out to be. There are some out there that may have a bad reputation, but dream essays have been helpful with producing quality projects.

Customers that hear another complaining about their favorite restaurants are not going to abandon them because of contrasting experiences. Students have to take initiative in wanting to do well in a course. There are deeper reasons as to why students procrastinate on assignments. I will write some articles on how to avoid procrastination and ways to improve time management.

For now, be confident about your writing abilities. There is no need to try to be perfect because the best writing is in the revision process. Flush out your ideas; work on structuring and revising them to produce a strong final draft. Any students having problems have the ability to use writing companies such as dream essays. Check out some of the blogs on Word Press. Search through my article archives, in addition to some of the advertisements that have quality writing companies and networks.

Good luck on writing!

Including Mistakes in Personal college admission essays

College and high school students that are looking to apply to a university, state, and private colleges should make sure they include hardship, mistakes, life lessons, and other material in their personal essays. The mass thinking is that one must try to impress with their 4.0 G.P.A. In writing your personal essay, include your hardships, life experiences, learning lessons, and mistakes.

Don't be fooled that the good grades you earned in the past will be enough to be admitted into a program. Millions of students apply each year to thousands of colleges. There is so much competition, you will be amazed and even shocked with how hard it is to get into one of your dream colleges. Many times, colleges are unfair and they admit the wrong students into their programs. What do they look for in an admission package?

Some programs have minimum GPA requirements. When I applied to UCLA's Film Program in 2004, the minimum GPA was 3.0. The college also looked for the overall GPA in major courses as well. The personal essay is a great tool to evaluate an applicant. Make sure you include why you didn't earn a good grade in a class and what you learned from the course. 4.0 students assume they're smarter than others. If a students always earns max points out of every assignment and end up receiving an A, are they challenged to try harder? What is they are used to taking on the same strategy in everything they do?

I always ranked in the middle and never earned the highest grades. After applying my education, I was able to learn more outside of college than in a top ranked university. Being able to analyze content without letting outside influences manipulate your perception is not that common. Some students will back away from offering their perception because others criticize them. The lesson here is to acknowledge that good grades don't make a student more intelligent than another that earns average grades.

In writing a personal essay, write the essay in a manner that includes what you learned from earning lower grades in challenging courses. An A student will more than likely remember why they earned a B grade than an A mark. A person will struggle to remember all the good moment in their life, but find it hard to forget the bad experiences. The bad experiences are a learning process. When you make mistakes, you try to avoid the same decisions again. Films operate on the same theme; enduring obstacles and conflict help a person to accomplish their goals. Write the hardships, bad experiences, learning lessons in your personal essays.

I earned a C+ in a creative visual writing course. I was very frustrated with the grade. Throughout the quarter, I worked hard in the class. I always revised all of my work. My final projects was creative and resourceful. The instructor was very strict. Since he was also a writer, he challenged me to produce work that was more closely related to his expectations. I earned A's in all of my creative writing courses. It was hard for me to accept the C+. I sent an e-mail to the instructor concerning my grade. He was on vacation in Israel at the time. I'm sure he wasn't happy about me challenging the grade. After a few e-mails, he changed my grade to a B-. Though I didn't earn what I thought I deserved, the moral behind the experience was that I remember the course.

The instructor used to remind the class to avoid passive writing. A passive sentence would start off in the past and end with the present tense. You have to make sure that you include the subject in the beginning. When I write, I don't slip in and out of the past or the present tense. If you write about the past, make sure to use verbs that have -ed, was, could, would, and other ones that represent the past. Present writing use verbs such as can, is, will, has, and other action verbs that can also end with an "s."

Also, when including it, make sure to establish what "it" are you referring to. It was a dumb mistake. What was a dumb mistake? If you mention the mistake before the sentence, then it will work. If not, then make sure to clarify what "it" means. Because of earning a lower than expected grade in the visual writing course, I always remember to avoid passive sentences and to keep the sentence in either the present or the past tense. Use the above advice in your personal essay. Balance out the good accomplishments with the bad - the life experiences and the mistakes you learned from. What experiences made you change?

Besides your grades, volunteer work, extracurricular activities, and goals, make sure to include life lessons, learning experiences, mistakes, and what you learn in the process. That piece of information may give you an edge over another applicant. Good luck on the admission process.

Writing APA papers

When you are assigned APA papers, you should purchase the newest and most up-to-date writer's handbooks. People that write many APA papers need writer's reference guides for resource purposes. How should one start an academic paper?

Before a student begins to write an APA paper, they should first understand their instructor's guidelines. Every instructor has a different set of rules. Read the syllabus, ask the instructor, review the first graded paper, and ask questions.

Gather credible sources, read the literature, write down words that fit the area of expertise, and prepare a reference list. Use creative vocabulary to add flavor to your APA papers. Make sure these words are used in the right context so they don't interfere with the sentence structure.

Reading the literature first will help a student or respective writer get into a good writing rhythm. Writer's block delays the writing process because a person loses interest of the writing process and tries to find outlets that will take them away. Reading will help to alleviate writer's block, which in result improves the overall process.

Try to use quotes sparingly. Avoid abusing and adding quotes just for the purpose of taking up space. Write your APA papers the same exact way that you communicate with your family, friends, and in front of classmates. Some students have a sense of fear that people will judge their writing with the same criticism as society does in being negative. The revision process us useful for repairing any work that doesn't meet one's personal standards.

Incorporate good quotes that latch onto your thesis. Whatever you're writing about, support the content through sharing other author's ideas. Employ a variety of APA techniques. If you use the author's name in-text, include the date in paretheis after their name. If the sentence also contains a direct quote, place the page number (p. 1) after the sentence. Another way to quote is to start the sentence with an idea, then merge right into a quote.

Cite the sentence with the author's last name, year, and page number. If you paraphrase, include the author's last name and the year. Beginning with an author's name in-text, include the year afterwards in parenthesis. If you're not directly quoting, then just end the sentence like any other sentence.

Try to balance APA papers with less than 30% quoting versus roughly 70% personal perception. Some students overuse quoting; they essentially avoid incorporating their own ideas or even responding to the material. Quotes are like road signs that lead you to final destination.

Write a strong introduction that sets the APA paper into motion. Everything discussed in the introduction will be further expanded in the body of the paper. Make sure that each paragraph begins with an opening sentence that indicates what is to be discussed. End the paragraph with a good transition sentence, which then will carry on to the next paragraph - an open sentence that guides the new paragraph.

Preparing an outline keep APA papers organized and on topic. Once you work through the body, then close the APA paper with a strong conclusion that begins with reaffirming the thesis. Discuss briefly what was covered in the course of the APA paper. With writing many papers, the introduction usally imposes the greatest challenge. The body requires more organization than the introduction and the conclusion.

In essence, the conclusion serves as a recap to what was discussed in the course of the APA paper. Whenever I write any papers, I use this same strategy. Remember; the more you write, the more experienced you become, which makes the writing process effective each and every time. Good luck on writing your APA papers!

The Most Complex Part of Academic Writing: The Introduction

Academic writing places a great deal of strain on brain. A student that attempts to cold write is to sure to experience problems with the introduction. The next time you're assigned an essay, make an attempt to write the introduction without doing any research on the topic. You will quickly feel the pressure in trying to write the introduction.

What does it take to write a good introduction? It would be best to read about the topic, which will help you to gain a clear understanding about the content. This will condition your mind to get into a good writing rhythm. Reading an article or a book that is similar to what you need to write about. The body of an essay depends on the introduction.

Take for instance; a builder is unable to construct a building without the architecture blueprint. Imagine the struggle of designing a grand building without knowing what it is supposed to look like. The same concept applies to film writing. Skipping the setup will make writing the development and the resolution a disaster. The resolution, especially, is dependent on the setup. Without establishing the characters and the plot, the story will not move forward.

Writing introductions in academic writing follows the same format as anything that requires construction. Just a brief recap of what needs to be done to perfect a quality introduction; read content, know your thesis statement, decide what you plan to cover, give a glimpse of what is to be discussed in the body, and hook the reader.

Writing an introduction takes planning. Learn about the content through reading, making an outline and with studiying professional prefaces and introductions to books. Compare the introduction to the opening (setup) of a movie, beginning stage of human development, and the Opening the introduction with a question or possibly a statement will keep the reader interested in the essay.

Take the introduction seriously because writing a good one will help you produce a strong body and conclusion. Make sure the introduction is consistent with the body and the conclusion. Develop an outline so it excites the reader into wanting to continue on with your essay. Learning to write quality introduction is sure to improve your ability to write great papers.

Psychology and Christianity

Yesterday evening, I wrote a 4 Mat book review on Psychology and Christianity. Anytime I write about psychology, my mind becomes fatigued. Creative and film writing sooth your mind. Anything relating to psychology places a great deal of strain on the mind.

The next time you write something that relates to psychology, make sure you read, outline, and complete the work earlier. Avoid procrastinating on psychology assignment because your mind will pay the price. When your mind struggles, you will feel the pressure, possibly leading to anxiety, stress, and negative feelings.

We tend to evaluate academic work as something that is boring. Even interesting assignments can be somewhat deflating too. Don't be tricked into thinking that you will complete interesting assignment early. The main problem is writing, as many think of it as an obstacle.

Planning the work ahead of time is not going to solve your writing issues. Focus on why you dislike writing. There is always an internal reason for procrastinating on assignments. When we wake up each morning, we brush our teeth, take a shower, and eat. If we are able to do those activities, then we can train our mind to accept writing too. Reading and writing helps a person become more acquainted with their perceptual abilities.

While reading about psychology and Christianity, it made me think about how both areas are interrelated and also conflicting. People assume that a psychologists can't practice both psychology and Christianity at the same time. There is confusing in mass Christian belief.

A person can practice both concentrations through separating their personal and professional views. Writing and reading psychology and religious content doesn't also nuke the mind. Give yourself a chance to process other beliefs, which will help to develop a cognitive perception.

Instead of judging and being critical about others, maybe you will try help others to make the world a better place. Don't think of what others are doing. Just think that you one more helping hand is going to make a difference. The book was very interesting and is applicable to the struggles in society. Find out what others are complaining about and do those things.
