Struggling after graduating from graduate school
I must admit that these current struggles are wearing me thin. It is tough to survive in an economy with limited opportunities for experienced workers. My right front tire popped on Wednesday afternoon. The tire ordeal occurred at the worst possible time.
These current struggles remind me of previous events. I anticipated there would be a few reliable job opportunities available soon after completing graduate school. However, my assumption proved that education lacks value in our society.
I'm left with hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loan debts. I'm no closer to my dream than I was back in 1994. I finally asked God to guide me last week. A week later, my situation is at its worst.
I devoted a year to writing domain articles to help domainers to avoid losing money. I helped many people to gain knowledge and to make better decisions. In that time frame, my readers turned the other way during my darkest moments. I placed a Donate option on the site. I never made any money with AdSense or affiliate programs. As expected, I never received a nickel.
Nobody ever wanted to purchased a quality site. My visitors would visit my sites and click on the for sale link numerous times. Nonetheless, the visitors never made the decision to move forward with contacting me about the site. They would do direct searches on Google for Spirituality.me. I own the valuable spirituality website. Recently, Whisper.me sold for $17,500. Spirituality.me produces double the stats and is one of the most valuable words across the world.
When you have an immediate need, very little people will want to help you. It doesn't matter if you have a vision to help millions of people. You could represent the peace this world needs to advance. Your future might shape countless dreams. On domain blogs and forums, you don't stand a chance.
There are millionaire domainers who will not give you a penny. They will note that they're giving you free advice when the advice is not as helpful as they assume it to be. You ask for help, thus, they use your problems against you as a way to think they're better than you. These rich arrogant people lack common decency to care about others beyond making an overpriced sale.
You begin to think; what will it take to realize my dream? What resources will I need to deliver my dream to fruition? Do I have to keep going through these worthless industries to learn more life lessons? First I deal with the restaurant industry. Then, there was the car sales industry. Lastly, the domain industry proved to be the final test.
Initially, I worked in the Air Force as a medical technician in the mid 90's. I don't view that time as negative. I helped ill patients to make it through their tough moments. I dedicated myself to care for others. I understand we have to do nice things and never speak of them. I feel compelled to bring up the Air Force experience since it is a major challenge that opened the doors to my future. I'm still living in the past. It is hard to move forward with so many chronic challenges.
I admit that my struggles are bleak. The rich have employed a frugal nature upon us. I briefly worked as a staff writer on a popular domain website. I put forth a noble effort to launch the website. In result, I made peanuts and received little respect. When I requested help, the owner failed to deliver. Even so, my articles are the most popular on the site. What good does that do me?
I quit writing on my domain blogs. I invested one year writing many articles. I prepared 600-700 articles. Readers would take the information and put it to work. They would rarely leave comments. I never communicated with these visitors beyond a few e-mails. The domaining experience is a very negative glitch in my life. I learned that people are quick to judge. They are negative. The domainers are mainly about making revenue and producing results. They're overprotective when you challenge their overpriced sales.
The domain industry is the devil in disguise. It's an industry that resembles the apple in the tree. The domainers are a part of the industry that depends on snakes to weasel end-users out of their money. Their greed makes it hard for the average domainer to survive.
I'm struggling due in part to the domain industry. The time I invested is lost. I could have written many screenplays or even a book. But, I didn't respond to what I'm destined to do in life. Instead, I allowed my life after graduate school to sink.
My eyes can barely see above quicksand. The murky mud is clouding my vision. There is no person out there to pull me out of the pit. My writing can inspire people to go after their dreams. I can convince a person to believe in their abilities.
However, the only voice that inspires me is the one in my mind that keeps telling me to never give up. Keep trying to accomplish your dream. Never lose sight of the lighthouse. God will guide you to the shore. I know that life is tough. It has been for many years. Hang in there.
You deserve credit for fighting through the adversity. I know there were many dark moments. Your struggles will define you as a person. Your time is near. Having faith during the darkest times is just as important as enjoying the good times.
I don't want people to pity me. I don't need compliments to feel better about myself. I do need help to make it past these tough times. I rarely find help in the domain industry. My time as a domainer is possibly the most stressful and negative moment in recent time. I encountered the leeches that hold the best domain names to keep businesses away from success. They charge insane prices, and want credit for selling these domain names soon after the new owner establishes success.
Why give the domainers praise for selling a domain name to another with a vision? What effort did they put forth in the owner's dream besides overpricing the domain? If I sold Facebook.com or Twitter.com to the current owners, I would not ask these websites to give me praise. It is only a domain name. We are all given birth names. It is up to us to make a name for ourselves through living our dreams. These domainers assume they have value. They think that without their domain names, the Internet will cease to exist.
The Internet will move on with or without domain names. Domain names are just domain names. Google Panda decreased the value of good keyword domain names. It seems the lifeline will get cutoff once your keyword site performs. Should I think that you can't grow your success online with quality content? Must I pay for AdWords or SEO to enjoy success?
The Internet keeps the little people down. Google is beginning to operate as an oligopoly to hold back the innovators. I can't find a good coupon since there are so many bad coupon sites crowding Google. Three year old coupons and outdated codes are keeping the quality sites out of the forefront. I don't have the money to invest into advertising.
I depended on my writing abilities. The quality articles worked well to build major traffic on a dozen sites. However, the traffic disappeared as quickly as it appeared. It is not fair. What can one do to compete? What steps are required to gain a competitive advantage? I learned a lot about the Internet. I implemented valuable techniques to grow my websites. A big Panda came along and devoured my success. The domain industry relies on Google to rank sites. End-users would rather avoid de indexed sites.
The worse aspect of the domain industry is holding the weekly domain sales report. Every week the top domain sales are reported on the DNJournal.com. The domain sales report praises the top sales. Sedo and Afternic are usually the top domain companies that rule the charts. These companies set restrictions on their platform to limit domain prices. Once you set the price above the threshold, the domain company will immediately request you to order a custom appraisal.
A domain owner sold a dot com boating site with the worst possible stats for $25,000. This site sold at an amount that is at least 30-50 times more than its actual market value. They challenged me for writing an article about this sale. As God communicates in the Bible, I must pray for this person I dislike. I have to accept them as a friend, although I don't respect them or their unethical ways.
This person rejected helping me in a time of need. They will brag about their millions of dollars in rejected offers and sales. This domainer will note they turned down a $20 million offer for their entire domain portfolio. They make a fortune writing domain articles that do little to help readers fulfill their dreams. I had to get out of this industry. Many domain blogs are unable to take criticism. They attack you the moment you challenge them. They will judge you and make crude comments.
Maybe my struggles are good. Otherwise, I would still try to use domains as a springboard to accomplish my writing dream. Thus, valuable time would be lost. I'm 35 years old. My Hollywood dream has taken up almost half of my life. I dedicated every moment to this dream. I know the dream is worth the time and struggle. I can no longer waste the air I breathe. I need help. I don't know where I will find the help to improve my current situation. I believe there are people who care enough to help me reach the next step.
I want to live this Hollywood dream to inspire people. I never wanted to sell high priced domain names. I was not interested bragging about high domain sales. There are no goals that made me want to continue the domain journey. Domaining is another bump in the road that set me off course. I'm glad I realized that dreams cannot be wasted doing something that does little to better society.
I couldn't stand hearing Frank Schilling speak of domain names as if they are the heart of the Internet. If so, then domain names like haunted.com and map.com are wasted domain names that could be transformed into better sites instead of worthless parked sites. These investors waste good sites. They want a fortune, so end-users must choose whether to invest in the domain name or spend thousands on marketing expenses to grow their website.
I see too many hyphenated domain names produce high traffic. You need quality content that is original. Who cares about a domain name. You can easily start a Blogger or a WordPress blog and deliver traffic. You don't have to spend a fortune. I want to own magicwriter.com. However, the owner wants $1700 for the domain name. I refuse to pay that amount when I'm essentially struggling to survive. The domain name is not worth half of that amount. It would be cool to own the name. For the most part, my blog is already on Google Page #1.
My main goal is to invest time into writing what I like most. I enjoy writing screenplays and stories. I put my screenwriting and story writing on hold to write domain articles to inform the domain community. The time spent in the domain world compromised my dream. The domain dream is never one I considered. There are many domainers that want to make $100K per year.
I would rather work as a writer than to sell domain names to take advantage of businesses. However, the spirituality dot me domain name is extremely valuable. I do own some domains that I envision as future websites. I probably would not sell these sites at any price. They are attached to innovative business ideas that will represent my future. Despite struggling after graduate school, I finally realized that I wasted my time as a domainer.
Don't waste your time doing something you dislike. If you have a dream, stay on the right trail. The more time you waste leaving the trail, the harder it will be to accomplish your dreams. There are good people in the world. Don't allow the bad people to make you think that helping another is wrong. Go after your education. Avoid student loans unless you have no alternatives to fund your education. Obtaining student loans can adversely impact your future. Always believe in your dream. Thanks for reading.

The decision to reduce writing on Magic Writer
I used to write many articles on Magic Writer. Instead, I shifted my focus to writing on DomainingMojo.com. On this blog, I don't attract as much interest. Sometimes I feel that nobody cares about writing tips, stories, learning lessons, and advice. I try to be as creative as possible, but my effort seems to go unnoticed. In addition, I dislike Blog Spot's blog template.
For the past few hours, I have been looking to rediscover the groove to keep me interested in Magic Writer. However, the blog format has changed, and I find it challenging to locate past articles in the blog archive. I once provided feedback on a multimedia animator position. Now that I need the article, there is no easy way to locate it.
Every time I type in the word animator, job, multimedia graphic artist and anything regarding animation, the search results turn up empty. When I write on WordPress, I can find my past articles with ease. On this blog, every article turns into a small grain of sand that's lost on some deserted island.
I may look into migrating my articles to another location. In the past year, the majority of my focus has been geared toward domaining, which I host many of my domains at Why Park. I managed to find many quality domain names that have nice appraisal values.
I like WordPress more because the blog platform provides stats. Having access to stat information enables me to determine which articles are most popular, and which ones are less appealing. I enjoy writing, especially when I have an audience that comments on my articles. I don't consider myself to be an attention seeker, though I find that results help motivate me to prepare additional articles.
I am nearing the end of my college education. I first started attending college 1996, while serving in the Air Force as a medical technician. I dedicated 14 years to college, so now I think it's time for my education to finally give me an opportunity to succeed. Of course, I planned to write films in Hollywood. I haven't given up on that dream. However, college put me in a slough of debt that interferes with my ability to stay focused on the main objective.
Where do I go from here? I recently visited a lady I met at Starbucks. She suggested that she could help me meet the right film and television people to become a writer. I discovered later that she has a psychic business. I never visited a psychic before. The lady's daughter is also a psychic. I was told to bring all of my writing samples to the meeting. Once I arrived at the location, I knew that I was in for a surprise.
The lady was running late to the 1:00pm appointment. She told me to go ahead, and do the psychic reading with her daughter, who also has the same abilities as her. I contemplated whether to do a psychic reading, because I never planned to have a reading done. I knew the cost of the reading would be substantial amount. Essentially, I agreed on paying $75 to have the reading performed.
The daughter told me that I'm a nice person. She said I'm a giving person. However, I'm a weak minded person. She said I was supposed to have been extremely successful as a writer. Everyone was supposed to know my name. Some cycle disrupted that dream. For the past 5 years, a block has prevented me from attaining my writing goal. The worst part of the reading was her telling me that I was supposed to have been famous ago. I'm not supposed to be doing small little projects.
The daughter asked about my faith. She then discovered there was some negative energy in my family. She touched my past script writing samples, noticing that they produced positive energy. I was told that my writing is a gift, and I'm supposed to use it to inspire people across the world.
The mother finally arrived. She greeted me with a handshake. We sat down. She told me that when she first met me at Starbucks, she sensed my gift. She knew my talent was beyond passion. On the contrary, she noticed some type of block keeping me away from my goal. No matter what I do, the block would never allow me to succeed. She asked me about my faith. I told her that I believe in God.
She did mention that having strong faith maintains the hunger to attain a dream. There is something within me that pushes me to go on, even under the most severe circumstances. I was born with a gift to become a writer. Some people have the passion to be a write, but there are some that have a gift. She mentioned that every write contest I entered, I was supposed to have made it in the final round.
The mother emphasized on my writing gift. She revealed that every studio was supposed to be fighting for me. The "supposed to" and the "famous" phrases made me feel like a failure. The mother told me that I should have been living my dream 5-10 years ago. Something happened along the way to deny me the opportunity to live my dream.
I have the ability to write on virtually any subject. My mind can replay stories with extreme accuracy. As I write, I can feel the words shaping like a puzzle. No matter how good of a writer I am, or what gift God gave me, I can never make it to the next level without discovering this block. Two people were going to be a part of my journey. One person was supposed to be good for my future, while the other would steal my ideas because they were jealous.
The good person was Cindy Williams. I met her a few years ago, but I didn't have a business card to give to her. Before arriving at the restaurant, I left my business cards on the computer desk. I always have at least one business card on hand. I wrote a past blog about my business card experience. I can't recall the bad person, because I don't socialize with as many people anymore, Ever since leaving film school, I haven't talked to aspiring filmmakers, writers, and actors.
Maybe the block the psychics speak of is me allowing myself to settle for less. I should be sending out my spec screenplays to various studios across Los Angles. but I have no clue why I keep waiting. I understand how the film industry works. I earned two film degrees, and a few other college degrees. Furthermore, I can craft scenes in a matter of minutes. Does this block have to do with my financial instability? I noticed that many times my finances disrupt my creativity? Am I attached to my family's negative energy?
Soon enough I will find out what block has held me back from reaching my dream. Nothing is more disappointing than hearing that you were supposed to have been living your dream. It's like an injured sports star being told he was supposed to be a superstar athlete that every household would talk about, but the moment has passed, as the wind carries the dust to another dream seeker.
My dream is considered a destiny. I'm supposed to write material, which to many will be held in high regard. How do I reach the top of the pyramid. We all have to take steps to reach success. I feel one step is holding me back.
I do everything that a write is supposed to do. I stay up late. I write until the morning. I drink energy drinks to maintain energy. I communicate with people that are in the business. I revise past work. I constantly write content to keep focused. Many people have dreams, but they lack the drive to chase after them.
While driving to film school 3-5 years ago, I always imagined myself accepting an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay on the Kodak Theater stage. It's one of those moments where you look back at all your struggles, and know that it was worth the challenge. I have given up a lot to carry out this dream. Hopefully I can inspire people to live their dreams.
This blog post motivated me to write on Magic Writer again. Thank you for reading. Good luck on your dreams and goals.

Haven't you noticed that goals and dreams become more of a struggle once you reach the end
Whenever anyone nears their ultimate goal, everything starts to fall apart. The stress is so intense, people struggle to function within their own space. This is the time when you have to remain focused on reaching your goal. Every person experiences adversity, which puts them in a tough position. What I've learned is that you can't give up. It is easy to give up, but much more harder to stay on course.
Think about how much time and energy you invested into your goal. If you're a student, you attended every course. You've taken tests, paid for tuition, listened to lectures, written many papers and completed the requirements to graduate college. Now it is time to use your education to further advance in life. The economy may influence your decision making abilities as to whether you will land a good job or risk losing out on many opportunities because there are a large pool of competing applicants.
Never give up on your goals or dreams. The difference between goals and dreams is how far you'll go to accomplish them. Dreams are sometimes left behind because of obligations, whereas as goals are more attainable. You can live both your dreams and goals. Don't let people in your dream field prevent you from reaching success. They may try to persuade you, even warn you that it is not worth the time and effort to chase after that particular dream. just know that every successful person wanted to succeed. They may have accidentally landed into their success, but they put forth the effort to accomplish their goals.
Millions of students will graduate this upcoming summer. Some will continue their education, while others will look to enter the workforce. The best advice I can give you is to prepare yourself. What can you do to separate yourself from your competitors. I would recommend attending a leadership program to acquire a certificate on how to lead as a manager and as a follower. Leaders know how to communicate a vision, giving them access to endless possibilities. Followers are more likely to respond to a vision than to accept control. Putting control into a group produces better results. as opposed to controlling and abusing power.
Every person has the potential to achieve success. We all deserve to find happiness. Consider using spirituality to maintain a positive outlook, while also improving your listening to land that dream job. Good luck!

Another nice end to the year....but there is hope to a brighter future
I put a whopping $3.06 in my gas tank. The gas light is still on. I don't have a penny in my possession. I still feel confident that this upcoming year, which will be a new decade, holds the key to my future. I have been waiting for this moment for 16 years. It is time to roll dice and land on the lucky 7. I do not want the same problems that started a decade ago to repeat once again.
Financial distress is that issue that enters every situation. It is time to rid my life of money problems. I need to make a move into writing a book and sending out my screenplays. I have lived in Southern California for almost 5 years now. I have always wanted to live there, so I need to take advantage of the opportunities.
I have equipped myself with every skill imaginable. Now it is the time to go after that long awaited dream. I want to be a writer. It doesn't matter where I have to start my writing career. I am flexible with my goal. We all have to begin our careers somewhere. The professional career I took on in the military was more of a stepping stone. I knew what I wanted to do before I joined the military.
I don't consider stepping stones as sacrifices because we have to pay our dues to make our dreams a reality. Whoever reads this blog, know that you have the potential to accomplish whatever goals you sent your mind on. Think positive and know that you if you want success enough, you will succeed. Happy New Year 2010!

What do you want to accomplish in 2010
The decade is almost over. What do I hope for in the next decade?
- a writing career
- success in my career
- to purchase a home
- to travel the world
- to move out of Southern California
- to write a screenplay that will be made into a film
- to write a book that will be published
- to earn a graduate degree
- to have a child in the next 3-4 years
- to make a difference in the world
- to see the Sacramento Kings win a championship
The list above are some of my goals. Make a list of goals to accomplish. You can become successful at anything you focus on. Bring in the new decade with a list of goals.

Setting New Years Resolutions
The new year is quickly approaching. It is time to set some new goals for the upcoming year. We are heading into another decade full of hope and opportunities. I sense that this upcoming year is going to be productive for me.
These last 10 years have been a major struggle - one obstacle after another. In assessing the positive aspects of the past decade, I have prepared to become successful in the near future. We have to realize our goals through visualizing them.
Make it a point to resolve conflict, improve skills and go after goals. You will never realize success if you continue to wait for it. Take the initiative to become successful. Good luck!

If you want to succeed in life....
Have you ever wondered why you continue to go after goals without having any success? The best way to accomplish a goal is to surround yourself with people that have access to the career you desire most. Whenever you have any obstacles in the areas involving your goals, these people can help you out. People that don't advance seem to communicate with others that don't understand their desire to accomplish goals.
Sometimes they may even be the ones that are holding a person back from advancing. Choosing friends and acquaintances are done in such a way as one does in finding an intimate relationship.
If you are one of those driven people that can't seem to make an impact in accomplishing a goal, it may in fact be the people you surround yourself; it will keep you from succeeding. Writers communicate with other writers. Athletes compete against other athletes. Politicians know others that are in public policy. Surround yourself with others that can give you access to the resources you need to be successful.

Cyberspace Open Screenwriting Contest
The list of second round applicants were announced today. With scoring an 87, I wasn't one of the applicants to make it past the first round. Judges only confirmed 100 applicants that wrote 130 scenes. This is the third contest in which I failed to accomplish an intended goal.
Maybe next time around I will produce a better screenplay. I know that life can never go the way that anyone plans it. I have to keep trying to go after my dreams, even if they never amount to anything. I have been trying for 15 years to make it into Hollywood.
Life is not that good right about now. Financially, I don't think I can hold on much longer. The moment that I left the military, my financial situation started to unravel. My coworkers used to ask me how I would make it outside of the Air Force. I'll admit it; they were right. My father and mother also have scolded me about leaving the military.
My financial situation has been a recurring theme for past 12 years - that is the moment I separate from the service and made it a point to go after the Hollywood goal. Before that moment, I prepared myself with attending college theater arts courses and acting classes in Sacramento. I assumed that 4 years of preparation would help me to make it into Hollywood.
After spending a bundle on college, now I'm questioning my past decision making. I can't fail now, not at this very moment. I have come too far to give up - I experienced too much hardship. Will I make it out of the current disaster.
Truthfully, I have no answers to what it will take to weather this current storm. I am lost for words. I hoped to make it past the first round of the contest. I really thought that I had a chance; a glimmer of hope that I could move closer to my goal.
As with the last two screenwriting contests, I have to start all over again. I'm starting to think about that one Journey song, "Here I go again on my own." I feel like I'm walking on that dream road alone. I can't find one person to believe in me. I know that my journey will be dark; the only guidance I will have is my hope.
The light from the distance is dull, almost nonexistent. I can barely see it. When our dreams are waiting for us, all we can do is try to avoid wavering to the influences that deny our dreams. The Cyberspace Contest made me realize that I am just an amateur writer that is waiting like millions of other people to dock on the right destination.
Good luck to those that have a dream, and to others that are near the point of accomplishment.

The writing tip for the day 9/21/09
The writing tip of the day is to self-analyze your life. Write a
personal review about areas that require improvement in your life. This
writing tip will explore the importance of personal self-assessments.
Why should you self-analyze your life? Every person has communication issues. Improving communication weaknesses will assist one in carving out the plans necessary to attract success.
Living life is more about being happy to help others out. Take the
time to self-assess life; determine what you can do to live a more efficient life.
Try to be honest about what you need to do. Sometimes we have to push aside fear. Dreams only come around a few times in a lifetime.
Self-assessments are like architect plans used to build a better life. Thank you for reading the daily writing tip.
Have fun self-analyzing yourself.
